A couple of years back two friends who have worked together on separate ends of the restaurant business got together for dinner and began to discuss exactly what was lacking in the arena of home delivered recipe kits. More importantly, they discussed what they could do to fill that gap. The two friends were Peter Andrews and Chef Michael Lachowicz. That deep discussion was the foundation for what was to become Home Kitchen Gourmet.
Peter, of Chicago Game & Gourmet, has logged over 35 years of experience in procuring the most unique and pristine items available. All on behalf of chefs who happen to be exacting and equally pristine and has done so across the country with a focus on the Midwest for the span of his career.
Michael, of the George Trois Group, was and is one of those chefs for whom Peter sought out the ingredients most chefs only dream. His restaurant, George Trois, was named the Best French Restaurant in Chicago by Forbes Magazine in 2019 and was the recipient of the Jean Banchet Award for Restaurant of the Year, 2019. Jeff Ruby of Chicago Magazine and Phil Vettel of the Chicago Tribune both awarded George Trois 4-stars. Gayot named George Trois as one of the 40 best restaurants in the country that same year.

Michael Lachowicz is the Chef/Proprietor of the George Trois Group in Winnetka, IL. In the last 35 years he has become one of the most celebrated chefs in the region, earning 4-Star reviews from both Jeff Ruby at Chicago Magazine & Chicago Tribune dining critic, Phil Vettel and winning The Jean Banchet “Restaurant of the Year” award in 2019.
